Willow Alaska Trail System

Willow Trails information, Maps, and Weather Conditions.

The trail system maintained by the Willow Trail Committee goes right by us on Crystal Lake and is part of the Historic Iditarod Trail! For information on trail conditions, snow report, and weather, welcome to the Alaska’s Heritage Lodge Winter Trails Page. From here you will be able to see an updated image of the weather every 5 minutes, and a time lapse of the day before from each of our cameras. A lot goes on around here with the weather, but there’s much more to see from the weather cam than just the weather! The main snowmachine trail to the Big Susitna River runs right by our lodge and in winter it’s always hopping with dog mushers, snowmachiners, cross country skiers, winter fat tire bikers, and people ice fishing. In the summer we have planes landing, people fishing, swimming, using paddle boats and anything else you can think of that happens on a remote lake. You may see moose hanging out in our yard nearly any time of year. Below are the maps for the amazing trail system in Willow. Enjoy!

Current Snow Conditions

Well winter is here but that is not saying much! We have a total of  8 inches of snow here at the lodge. And it was a wet heavy snow every time it snowed. Mild temps and lack of snow have held off what I what say are good conditions for outdoor activities. The willow Trail Committee has put markers on the trails and I see hardcore riders out on the trails but just know its not ideal by any means. Will update as conditions change 🙂
